Draw it like - Pokkuti

Bored with your own artistic style? Want to try something new and exciting? Why not try to emulate the drawing style of one of your favourite artists on DA?

Answer: Because if your laptop is slow and chuggy and you don't have a second screen to keep your reference images on it can get super tedious switching back and forth and will make your laptop threaten to shut down or crash or lose work and AAAAARGH! (Also, I thought about picking a specific character but couldn't choose and so ended up settling on a generic muscle girl.)

So in my continuing mission to understand how other artists on DA create their artwork I thought I'd give 's style a go. All in all I'm actually pretty happy with how this one has turned out. My lines aren't as smooth or clean as the original and the head/face isn't great (among numerous other things) but comparing this to previous 'Draw it like's this was the first one where I picked the pose and then looked for the references (instead of finding some references and trying to jam them into a single image) which I think has improved the pose at least a little if nothing else. It's a certainly not a unique/original/exciting pose but I can work on that.

Anyway, , I've been really impressed by the amount of work you've put into your Forbidden Frontiers series. It's an interesting story and I can only applaud your patience work ethic in producing the winding story line. You have a lovely art style and it's always a pleasure to see new work from you. Hope you like this little tribute, and anyone who hasn't seen his work, check his gallery out.

In terms of this piece, feed back is welcome. Next 'Draw it like' coming.... uh, don't know when. I've not decided what I'll do next. We'll see.
